Delivery
We aim to ship the majority of products within 5 working days.
Shipment within the UK is sent via Royal Mail’s second class service. Shipments outside of the UK will be sent via Royal Mail’s standard Airmail service. Large or heavy orders may be sent via a courier.
Responsibility for Local Taxes and Duties
When we ship books for delivery outside the United Kingdom, the recipient is liable for any local taxes or import duties that may be payable once the goods reach the country of destination. Place Press can take no responsibility for this and if the goods are returned due to unpaid tax the costs will not be refunded as the sale has been completed.
The goods can be re-despatched with a further charge for dispatch at the customer's request.
We recommend that you check with your local customs officials or post office for more information regarding importation taxes/duties that may be applicable to your online order.
Order Cancellation
A customer may cancel an order between placing the order and up to 14 days after receipt of the goods. If the cancellation happens after the goods have been despatched then a refund will be made within 14 days of receipt of the goods back at Place Press or 14 days within receiving proof of postage from the customer, if earlier. The cost of returning the goods to Place Press will be the responsibility of the customer. Please advise us of your intention to cancel. Our email address is mail@placepress.com.
Payment
All transactions are processed via our website www.placepress.com and all major credit cards are charged in pounds sterling.
Returns
Products may be returned if you notify us via email within 14 days of receipt of product. Products must be returned undamaged and in the state in which they were sent. You are responsible for ensuring correct packing of the product and using appropriate postal and recorded delivery methods with relevant insurance cover in place. Place Press is not responsible for the loss or damage of any returned product. Upon satisfactory receipt of the returned goods we will refund your payment within 7 days minus the costs of initial shipping and packing charges.
Damage
If your product is received damaged in the post, please notify us immediately and retain the product and packing and we will contact Royal Mail or the courier company who will be responsible for addressing and compensating the damage claim. Notify us immediately and we will advise on the appropriate course of action. Once the product has been dispatched to the Royal Mail, risk of loss passes to the customer.
Responsibility for Local Taxes and Duties
The UK sales tax of Value Added Tax (VAT) is not payable on books, but is applied at 20% to and other non-book material.
VAT is only charged on deliveries within the European Union. If you are within the EU and have a VAT code that means you are VAT exempt, please include this in your order and our staff will amend your order accordingly. There is no tax chargeable to customers outside the European Union.
